July 2010: Currently, the last of the 144 schools are being equipped with solar light. Students and teachers are thrilled. At last, light for reading, learning, playing and preparing the lessons. These 144 "Solar Schools" are one of the projects initiated by the foundation Menschen für Menschen - Karlheinz Böhms Äthiopienhilfe - and financed with the generous support from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The solar technicians of the Stiftung Solarenergie - Solar Energy Foundation Ethiopia have installed the solar systems and will assure the maintenance.
