Solar cooling of medicine
Each of the health posts scattered around the country is the next source of medicinal care for approximately 12,000 people.
At present, the health posts are equipped with cerosin-powered refrigerators. The fuel required to operate them is expensive and can only be transported to remote areas with difficulty. When the weather is bad, this is made impossible.
In order to ensure autonomous refrigeration, the health posts should be equipped with solar-powered refrigeration systems. This increases operational safety and, at the same time, lowers operating costs.
Together with our partner "Menschen für Menschen" we installed totally 35 solar-powered refrigeration systems in rural health posts all over Ethiopia.
